How meetings work

What to expect when you show up.

First time is on us to make easy. Here is exactly how a session runs, what the rules mean for you, and what you will and will not get. No surprises.

The format

Two kinds of session: monthly online and quarterly in person. Both run under Chatham House Rule, both are chaired by a practitioner, and both are posted on Luma, which is where you RSVP. In-person nights rotate between Seattle and Tacoma so the same people are not always the ones driving (clock times shown are local).

Virtual, monthly

Every month · 60 minutes · online

  • 5:30OpenThe chair welcomes everyone and states the Chatham House Rule.
  • 5:35TopicOne subject, screen shares and real configs from a practitioner.
  • 6:15QuestionsOpen floor for questions, war stories, and follow-ups.
  • 6:30WrapNext month's topic, then done on time.

In person, quarterly

Four times a year · evening · Seattle and Tacoma

  • 5:30Doors and foodArrive, grab food, say hello. No program yet.
  • 6:00SessionThe chair opens, states the Chatham House Rule, then hands to the speaker or topic.
  • 7:00NetworkingThe real value. Stay as long as you like.

Chatham House Rule

You can use what you hear. You cannot attribute it to a named person or company. That is what lets people talk about what really happened.

Your data stays put

RSVPs and attendee details live in our own tools. They never go to a vendor CRM. Full stop.

A practitioner runs the room

The chair is a working practitioner, not a vendor employee. The agenda answers to the members.
